Deaconess (DR.) MRS.
PATIENCE EHISIENMEN IYAMU
(OVBIE - EDOKPOLO)

1959 - 2024.

It has taken me an eternity to gather the strength to pen these words, as I still grapple with the reality that my cherished friend, confident and sister has departed from this world. In the depths of my being, I am engulfed by a profound sense of loss, and yet, amidst the sorrow, I find myself drawn to a sober reflection on the transient nature of life's vanity. I first crossed paths with Mrs. Patience Ehi Wilson Iyamu (nee Edokpolor), affectionately known as Iye Ewean, in 1996 - a staggering 28 years ago. Our encounter was when I sought out her exquisite kaftans. Little did I know that this chance meeting would blossom into an unbreakable bond, where the lines between friendship and sisterhood blurred into oblivion. Iye Ewean was not merely a friend; she was a luminary, a rare gem whose brilliance illuminated the darkest corners of our lives. Her character was a tapestry woven with threads of dedication, honesty, dependability, and humility. She toiled tirelessly, her hands etched with the imprints of hard work, her heart radiating with selflessness and devotion. Above all, she was a beacon of faith, her spirit tethered to the divine, guiding her every step with unwavering grace. The chasm left in her absence is unfathomable, and the warmth of her embrace. Her memory will linger eternally, a gentle whisper in the wind, a comforting presence in the depths of solitude. As I bid farewell to my dear friend and sister, I am consumed by emotions, yet amidst the anguish, I find solace in the belief that she has found peace in the embrace of her maker. To her bereaved family, especially her beloved children, I extend my heartfelt prayers, beseeching the heavens to grant them strength and solace in the wake of this huge loss. In the journey of life, we are but fleeting travelers, bound by the ephemeral threads of existence. Yet, in our hearts, we carry the promise of reunion, where we shall be reunited with our departed loved ones, never to part again. With tear-stained words and a heavy heart, I bid you farewell, dear Iye Ewean. May you rest eternally in the embrace of divine love, your spirit soaring amongst the stars. Forever in my thoughts, forever in my heart.

TRIBUTE TO A CHRISTIAN MOTHER WITH NOBLE DISPOSITION
Although I received the news of your demise with a heavy heart but i was consoled by the fact that you have finished your cause and completed the race set before you and this form the major reason why your Maker, Our Creator decided to approve your transition to the celestial abode of his saints in heaven. You lived an exemplary Christian Life enshrined in godly principles of God's kingdom. You replicated the sacrificial life of the biblical Dorcas who provided for the needs of many in her days. You were instrumental to the well-being of some Christian mothers to the extent that your numerous gifts to some of us will forever remain indelible in our memories. You were a loving wife to your beloved husband and a diligent mother to your children. You were a renowned counsellor, gentle, hospitable and reliable. You advocated and demonstrated the dignity in labour with godliness and contentment. You were among the very few women who laboured for the growth of the church to the extent that even in your sick bed, you never gave up on God. I am glad you reached the "finish line" with an excellent result and I know for sure that your reception in the celestial city will be unprecedented.
Rest in the Lord's bosom daughter of the most high.
It is well with your soul.
Rev Mrs Diana Uwadiae.
How do I begin writing a tribute for a God's vessel of compassion, benevolence and egalitarian humanity, who has left all of us in extreme shock of huge loss by her untimely transition to immortality? Sad as it is, we celebrate all that she represented and offered to those who were fortunate enough to have met her on her sojourn on Earth; her infectious humanity and her capacity to transmit her inner vivacity and glow to those around her, especially those of us who were extremely privileged to be her loved ones, was legendary. She was a doting mother in a million; and we shall sorely miss her physical presence; but we trust in her spiritual presence in the angelic realm to spread her wings of protection over us. It is our fervent prayer that she finds absolute favour in the sight of God our divine Creator. May her loving soul and the souls of all faithful departed, through the mercies of God, rest in peace, AMEN.
Miss Joyce Edokpolo

A TRIBUTE TO A WONDERFUL FRIEND AND SISTER

Words cannot express the depth of pain and sadness that engulfed my heart with the news of your demise. Drawings cannot paint the picture of what has happened even as we know and have come to acknowledge the fact that there is a time to be born and a time to die, a time to rejoice and a time to mourn, “Mummy ” as we fondly call you, little did we know that your time would come so soon. In life’s reality, death is a call each and every mortal is bound to obey. We believe that you are with our Creator.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.
How do I begin to let the world know who you are in my mind’s eye?
You were kindness personified, an embodiment of kindness itself!
You were selfless in all things as you always put others first before yourself!
Whenever I needed help and support, you were always there, unwavering and steadfast like a pillar!
Your caring for me and my family was like a mother’s love, undying, even though we did not share the same blood.
In fact, as I reflect on the countless memories of you, I thank God for having had you in my life. You made so much impact in my life, leaving indelible marks in my heart.
Though you are no longer physically present, your legacies of kindness, forthrightness, and selflessness live on.
I am forever blessed to have had you as a great friend and sister.
Thank you for showering your unconditional love on my friends. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
To live in the hearts of those you love and cherish is not to die.
Sleep on dearest friend and sister till resurrection morning where we will meet to part no more.
Adieu! Adieu!! Adieu!!!

A Tribute to a Woman of immense Generosity , Laughter and Joy In the tapestry of our lives, there are threads of love and laughter woven by those who leave an indelible mark on our hearts. Today, we stand to celebrate the life of Deaconess (Dr.) Mrs. Patience Iyamu a.k.a. MamiNosky ( as I fondly called her) β€”a woman whose generosity knew no bounds and whose laughter echoed like music in our souls. MamiNosky was more than just an aunt; she was a mother , a beacon of light, a source of joy, a strong pillar of strength and source of empowerment for all who knew her. Her generosity knew no limits, and her kindness touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of love and compassion that will endure for generations to come. With a heart as big as the sky and a smile that could brighten the darkest of days, MamiNosky brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. Her quick wit and infectious laughter were a constant reminder that life is meant to be lived fully and joyfully, regardless of the challenges we may face. In her words, money is meant to "check insults".. But beyond her humor and laughter, MamiNosky possessed a deep well of compassion and empathy for those in need. Whether it was offering a helping hand to a friend, neighbour, relative, fellow business partner in need or opening her home to those without a place to stay, she lived out the true essence of generosity and selflessness. She was a mover and shaker! Or as we say in our local parlance "na she dey run things that year" MamiNosky's legacy of love and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit continues to shine brightly, illuminating our lives with memories of her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. As we bid farewell to MamiNosky, let us take comfort in knowing that she has left behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and uplift us for years to come. May her generous spirit and infectious laughter live on in our hearts forever, reminding us to embrace life with joy, kindness, and boundless love. Rest in peace, dear MamiNosky. Your love, laughter, and legacy will forever be cherished and remembered. You will be sorely missed

Tribute to my dear friend Mrs Patience Iyamu, I still can’t believe you are gone…. New Benin seems emptier without your infectious laughter and jokes.Β

A thousand pages of tribute won’t be enough to express my deepest feelings nor to describe the person that you were to me. You were brave, industrious, funny, and always there for anyone who needed your support. Your generous heart, your deep insight, and wisdom will stay with us always. Your courage and strength stood as an example to all. Your legacy will live on in our hearts. I am deeply saddened by your passing, but I am grateful for the time we had together. You will always be remembered for your service to friendship, and your spirit of kindness will never be forgotten. You were an inspiration and a role model to many. You will be greatly missed.

The loss of a mother is very difficult to bear, especially when she is an anchor holding everyone strong. She was also like a second mother to all. Her warm embrace, wise advice, and unconditional love will be deeply missed. Saying goodbye to her has been one of the hardest things to do. Mummy was brave: she overcame whatever life threw her way; she was loved by all and had a positive impact on lives. She will forever be missed. Rest on till we meet to part no more.

A TRIBUTE TO A SELFLESS SWEET LADY.
I got to know Mrs Patience Iyamu in the course of carrying out my professional duties. Not long after, I came to the realisation that the fact that our paths crossed was God-ordained. She became a friend, a reliable and kind-hearted one at that. She was a strong and hardworking lady who cared for others more than herself. She sure obeyed God's tenet of Jesus first, yourself last and others in between. Though older than her, I learnt a lot from Mrs Patience Iyamu. She gave of herself, her resources to others without expecting a reward or payback. Her giving and compassionate spirit were unequalled. She was, indeed, a rare gem. I sore miss her but I am consoled that she is in a better place where there is no pain, no sorrow, no crying. Rest in peace.
